The city of Arnhem and the municipality of Arnhem lies on the eastern part of Netherlands. Arnhem has bagged a position among the 10 largest cities in Netherlands. While shopping in Arnhem one may start with Jansstraat or the City Center where one can find a wide range of shops selling treacle-wafer and bakery products. The second important place for shopping in Arnhem is Ketelstraat and the Vijzelstraat. The former street ranks first among the largest shopping street in Arnhem that has all kinds of stores. While Vijzelstraat is an extension of Ketelstraat. Apart from these, Bijenkorf ranks first among the largest departmental store in Arnhem. The popular place at Bijenkorf is the basement which is named “Chill Out”. This departmental store houses trendiest clothes and exclusive presents. The second big departmental store in town is Vroom en Dreesmann located at Velperplein

At the city center one comes across a large number of shops selling food and drinks. Netherlands is famous for Cheese and one can go shopping in Arnhem for cheese as well as other food items like meat, vegetables, milk, fish at the shops located in the city center. Arnhemse Meisjes or local cookies form another important item when shopping in Arnhem. Arnhemse Meisjes are a thin fluffy cookie coated with a layer of sugar. These are available at the shop “Noack” in the Vijzelstraat area. The other local food items sold in Arnhem include:
- Haagse Hopjes that is a kind of candy made of caramel.
- Deventer Koek that is a kind of cake filled with spices.
- Zeeuwse Babbelaar is a candy made of butter.
All these items are available in Jansstraat as well as in the souvenir shop in the Ketelstraat.
Peeze Koffie is another item for shopping in Arnhem. It is available in shops like Het Kookeiland, Noack, Lekker&Co.
